JWAL Call for papers:

The JWAL Editors propose to devote one future issue of JWAL to the subject of Compounding. Contributors are invited to send papers on that subject within the framework of Morphology, Syntax or Phonology. Papers should be no more than 15 JWAL sized pages (approximately 5500 words). The best 8 papers will be published as one issue. Papers will be peer-refereed as usual, and the Editors’ decision will be final. Deadline for receipt of contributions: 30.11.2011.

The Journal
The purpose of the Journal of West African Languages is to publish articles of good quality and interest in all aspects of language and linguistics that are relevant to the area of West Africa, which may be defined as Sub-Saharan Africa, extending into Central Africa. Journal was founded in 1964 by the West African Linguistic Society , and has been in publication ever since, with gaps in 1972-73 and 1977-81.

When are issues published?
The Journal is published twice yearly, when enough articles are ready for publication, though in some years a single combined volume is published.
